Migrante NL Den Haag celebrated the Philippine Independence day with other Filipino organizations from The Hague last 13 June 2015 with traditional Filipino customs of fun, games, dancing, singing and especially food in the usual Filipino tradition. It also commemorated with photographs the heroes who fought against Spanish colonialism, US imperialism in the Philippine-American war, and the Japanese occupation. It also honored those who continue to struggle against the oppression and exploitation of compatriots abroad as in the case of Mary Jane Veloso and to attain national sovereignty as it deals with the issue against China´s intrusion on Philippine territory.
