Migrante Netherlands held a productive meeting with the Red Cross Anti-Human Trafficking Team to discuss potential areas of cooperation in supporting Filipino migrants who face exploitation, abuse, or trafficking-related challenges in the Netherlands.

During the meeting, Migrante Netherlands shared its experiences and cases from the community — stories of Filipino migrants who have encountered unpaid labor, threats, and other forms of abuse. The Red Cross team presented its ongoing programs that provide assistance to victims of human trafficking, including psychosocial support, legal referrals, and safe accommodation.

Both organizations recognized the urgent need to strengthen coordination and referrals to ensure that Filipino migrants in distress receive timely and appropriate support. The discussion also explored possibilities for joint education and awareness initiatives aimed at preventing trafficking and empowering migrants to know their rights.

Migrante Netherlands continues to work closely with Filipino communities, migrant organizations, and institutions to advance the rights and welfare of overseas Filipinos. This partnership with the Red Cross marks a meaningful move toward a more coordinated response to the challenges faced by migrants in vulnerable situations.
